VILLA HAPPY WITH MLS PERFORMANCES

Former Barcelona player David Villa is happy with his performance in the Major League Soccer of the United States where he is one of the best rates players.

The New York City FC player has enjoyed much of the limelight since making a move to play in the league. He featured in the All Star game as the MLS faced English Premier League side Arsenal who were on a United States tour.

The player has been eager to pair with Montreal Impact’s star player Ignacio Piatti since facing him for a year and half now. Ahead of the All Star training session, Villa said: “I have the desire to play with Piatti, he’s a guy I know and a guy that’s dominating the league, not just this year but in years past.

“He’s a good guy, I know him personally, and I hope that we’ll have minutes together on the field and that we can enjoy them.”

Both players are the top two talents in the MLS especially since the start of the 2016 season. The duo are the leading goal scorers, with Villa netting 13 goals in 22 games for NYCFC and Piatti with 12 goals and five assists in 18 games so far.

Villa was happy to be among the All Star team as he said it was one that was rarely seen in Europe but he has come to appreciate at the MLS. He said the league was growing and the experience of the All Star team was nice for the League and the players as a whole. Villa’s efforts have ensured New York City FC remain at the top of the league in the Eastern Conference. His goals have endeared him to the fans and the coach Patrick Vieira.
