Arsenal lead the race to sign Real Madrid out of favour striker Luka Jovic. According To reports from Italy, Arsenal have overtaken fellow suitors Milan and Napoli in the race for the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker. Jovic has endured a poor debut season with the capital club, as he has failed to displace Karim Benzema from the first team.

Real Madrid are looking to cut their losses by selling the forward in the summer. He is not short of admirers, as he has attracted a host of top clubs. Milan, Napoli, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with the player over recent weeks.

Italian giants AC Milan had been thought to be leading the race for the 22 year old as they looked for a centre forward to lead the lines ahead of next season. But in a twist of events it is understood that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has identified Jovic as one that could replace contract rebel and club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club.

Aubameyang has been linked with moves away from Arsenal. Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the clubs interested in the player. Former Barcelona and Spanish international David Villa has advised his old side to sign Aubameyang. He stated that the Gabon international will compliment Messi so well and could be the perfect replacement for Luiz Suarez.

Chelsea are also monitoring the player’s contract situation with keen interest. The Blues will offload two center forwards at the end of the season. Mitch Bathuayi and Olivier Giroud are expected to leave the Club at the end of the season, leaving Tammy Abraham as the only recognized striker in the first team. The club has identified Aubameyang as the player to lead their line next season.

For Jovic, Arsenal are confident they can outbid Milan and Napoli for the signature of the 22 year old who scored 27 goals in all competitions last season.
