Patrick Vieira has gone from being in charge of the reserve team of Manchester City to becoming the coach of the MLS side New York City FC.

The retired French player was appointed as the new manager of the MLS team back in January of 2016 and David Villa has recently talked about this managerial switch as the Spanish attacker stated that tactics of the former coach Jason Kreis and the ones that are being implemented by Patrick Vieira are vastly different but he just wants to focus on the future with this new manager who has taken the helm.

“This year is different. We started the first day with these good players, other players, with the team more compact. I think it’s important. The preseason has been good. We have a lot of time yet until the first game. We hope to be ready for the opener on the 6th of March. Right now it’s better for me, it is important for me. As captain of the team, the club, Patrick and my teammates need me to speak about some things. Right now I can communicate with them.” The captain of New York City FC, David Villa said.

David Villa has also talked about the hope that he has of getting called back to the Spanish national football team, as he has not played for his national side since the 2014 World Cup. Villa had already stated that he was going to retire from playing at the international stage when the previous World Cup reaches it’s end but the Spanish attacker now wants to get back and play with Spain, he is currently the all-time top-goal scorer of Spain after having scored a total of 59 goals but from the looks of it, Villa wants to continue adding more goals to his name.
