VILLA TO GALA?

According to reports emerging from Spain, David Villa of Atletico Madrid is being considered as a replacement for Didier Drogba and the Turkish side Galatasaray is interested in signing the former player of Barcelona.

The Ivorian forward Didier Drogba wants to finish his football career playing at the MLS, which is a decision that most players of a certain age are taking into consideration and Drogba wants to continue with that trend.

David Villa completed his move to the Spanish side Atletico Madrid around 7 months ago as they signed him from Barcelona with a transfer fee of €5.1 million and despite being overshadowed by the sensational season that Diego Costa has been going through, Villa has still managed to enjoy a fairly good campaign with his new club.

The contract of Villa expires on June and from there on out he has the option of either extending his stay at Atletico Madrid or make a switch to any club that is interested in signing the Spanish striker, which means that a move to Galatasaray might not be so farfetched as many are claiming it to be.

Villa played with Barcelona since 2010 up to 2012 as he scored over 30 goals throughout his campaign with the Spanish giants and he had to play against his former team some weeks ago in a match that concluded without any goals but despite failing to secure the victory he was proud of the work done by his club as he spoke about the current situation of Atletico Madrid and what it feels like to play against his former club.

‘’We would have liked to win and that was what we worked for but it was an intense match and I believe we did a good job on our 1st league match of the season against them. Even though we would have enjoyed a triumph, the rivals we faced was a big one’’ Villa said following the conclusion of the encounter against Barcelona.
