VILLA WANTS MORE

The striker of Barcelona, David Villa, has said that he wants to get more starting opportunities at Barcelona. David Villa hasn’t got many starting opportunities after his comeback.

However, in the recently played Copa Del Rey match against Alaves, some regular first XI members of Barcelona were given rest and Villa was included in the starting XI. The Spaniard grabbed that opportunity with both hands and played brilliantly in the entire match.

Villa found the net in the 40th minute of the match by latching on an angular pass from Andres Iniesta. Barcelona won that match by 3-0. Apart from Villa, Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta Lujan were the other two goal scorers for Barca in that match.

Villa has been in decent form of late and he has scored 5 goals in the ongoing season so far, but, because of the presence of a number of quality strikers in the Barcelona squad, Villa has featured as substitute for Barcelona in most of the matches. But, whenever he has been sent on to the field, he has played quite well.

After the match against Alaves, Villa said, “Every footballer in the world wants to be included in the starting XI more often than not and it’s same for me as well. But, we have some great strikers in the squad and that’s why, I am finding it difficult to make it to the starting XI.”

“I am delighted to have got the starting opportunity after a long time. Fortunately, I managed to put up a decent performance. We have to play another match on Saturday and hopefully, I would get another starting chance in that match.”

Barcelona’s next match will be a La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo on Saturday at Camp Nou.
