Ricardo Kaka and David Villa both made their debut in the Major League Soccer (MLS) on March 8 as New York City FC and Orlando City SC faced off against each other in a match that finished with a 1-1 scoreboard but it was a significantly better debut for Kaka than Villa as the Brazilian player was able to score a goal and rescue one point for his team while David Villa did not have such a big impact in the pitch.

Since the conclusion of the 2014 World Cup, the MLS has been experiencing a growth in their league and this is becoming even more evident by the amount of teams that are entering the American competition and this match was substantially important for the MLS as both new squads assembled and played their first league match of the season.

The former star of Ac.Milan expressed just how big this match was as the Brazilian attacker said: “The result wasn’t what we wanted, but everything that happened today was really incredible. We have a lot to improve on and we’re going to improve, but it was a really special day for everyone on this team. ”

David Villa is New York City FC’s designated player and he contributed in his debut match as the Spanish forward slipped a pass over to Mix Diskerud just outside of the penalty box and the 24 year old Norgewian midfielder made no mistake in firing it home and scoring the opening goal of the game at the 76th minute but this goal was cancelled out by Ricardo Kaka in the final minutes of the game.

The Spanish forward seems to have adapted to life in the United States fairly quick as he is not only continuing his football career in the MLS but he has also been collaborating with the singer and artists Tim Mitchell, Albert Menendez and Sarah Packiam in the creation of the song: ‘’New York City All The Way’’ which was made in homage to the fans of the MLS new arrivals New York City FC.
