David Villa has said that Barcelona should target more than 100 points in this season. Pep Guardiola’s side top La Liga after 14 rounds of matches with 37 points – two more than arch rivals Madrid.

That means the champions have dropped just five points all season, but Villa knows they cannot afford to be over-confident against in-form Sociedad.

“The game against Real Madrid could be a trap if we are over-confident,” he said. “But that won’t happen.

“In a league in which we can get to and may need 100 points, every game is important. Having Dani Alves gives us a great chance.”
