Davis Villa would like to play against Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners take on the Catalan giants in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday and Villa, who moved to Barca from Valencia in the summer, is full of praise for the north London club.

“As a spectator I like the way Arsenal play with quick one or two-touch football,” he told the Independent.

“Their style would have suited me well. I also had friends at Liverpool and from what I have heard from team-mates, players learn a lot when playing under Rafa Benitez, but that did not happen.”

David Villa has said that Barcelona should target more than 100 points in this season. Pep Guardiola’s side top La Liga after 14 rounds of matches with 37 points – two more than arch rivals Madrid.

That means the champions have dropped just five points all season, but Villa knows they cannot afford to be over-confident against in-form Sociedad.

“The game against Real Madrid could be a trap if we are over-confident,” he said. “But that won’t happen.
